WPC Louise Camilleri’s letter (The Sunday Times, September 5), is an insult to one’s intelligence. This photo was taken on the same day her letter appeared; I believe it says a lot.

With the likes of a pool party in the middle of the road (as though that was what Paceville needed, another blocked road), as if tolerating the noise through Saturday night were not enough already, this club seems to wish to deprive residents of a Sunday afternoon’s rest too.

I also thought there was a law on how one dresses in the street and the obstruction of pavements. Apart from all this, the fact that the Paceville administration committee was not allowed its say on such an activity in advance only proves the very concept of these committees to be nothing but a government gimmick.

So is this how we expect foreign students to learn to show more respect towards residents, when Malta can’t even show some respect for itself yet?

And where are the police?
