Bank of Valletta has announced that, since it was launched last February, hundreds of people have applied for the computer loan offer introduced in conjunction with the incentive launched by the Government.

"The demand we have registered is truly outstanding as people take advantage of the incentive made available by Government as part of The Smart Island strategy," said Mario Gouder, executive head responsible for consumer finance at BoV.

Through this scheme, any household purchasing computer equipment until May 30 is being refunded 16 per cent of the purchase price.

"This package effectively means that those who take advantage of this computer loan offer will be paying less than €1 a day for their new computer," said Mr Gouder.

Through the loan, customers can borrow between €600 and €1,200 to buy a computer equipment.
