Until a few months ago there was a bus shelter in Attard as one comes up Antoine De Paule Street, for passengers going on to Rabat/Mdina. One fine day someone decided that those using that bus stop do not deserve the niceties of a bus shelter. Tourists residing in the five-star hotel nearby, besides locals, were abruptly denied this useful amenity.

I sincerely appeal to those in charge to reinstall this facility. Hopefully, they would not install those so-called modern ones, which make splendid billboards for publicity purposes but are useless as bus shelters. I use the one in front of the service station in the vicinity. When you are in it and it rains it hits you if the wind is blowing from east, south or west. What is worse, if it rains the seat is concave and water remains there till it dries. At my age I prefer to sit when waiting. No way of finding a dry spot if it had rained before.

I do not know who really designed that trap and had the indecency to call it a bus shelter. Please come up with a functional design. The ones that were built ages ago were worth the cheap expense and were really functional. One could have the front of the old bus shelter totally transparent for security purposes.
