A Liberian man has been extradited to Malta from Norway to face charges in connection with the discovery of a kilo of cocaine in 2009.

The man was escorted to Malta by two Maltese policemen last night. He was arrested on the strength of an international arrest warrant following police investigations. Two Nigerian men are already in jail following convictions related to the case.

The Liberian man is expected to face charges of association to import and traffic drugs as well as possession. 

The drug had been found in two apartments in April 2009. 

The Liberian man has already spent time in jail for drug possession in Norway.
