Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi said Parliament would not be convened on Wednesdays, when votes are taken, if one or more Nationalist MPs are away on government or parliamentary business.

The report that appeared on yesterday's front page erroneously quoted Dr Gonzi as saying he was prepared to suspend Parliament. In fact, he spoke about not holding the Wednesday sitting so his MPs could go abroad in the national interest and to avoid a repeat of what happened in the House recently.

The error is regretted.
