The authorities have decided against having personalised reserved parking for persons with disabilities.

Transport Minister Joe Mizzi was replying to a question in parliament by Toni Bezzina (PN).

Mr Bezzina asked whether persons with disabilities who applied for reserved parking outside their home could have that parking slot personalised, so no one else could use it.

The minister said a study had been carried out but it was decided that reserved parking slots should not be personalised as this would not be an efficient way of using this space.

There was never any policy which personalised such parking slots such that nobody else could use them. Such spaces, therefore, could be used by other persons who also suffered disabilities.
