I join Paul Mallia in his disappointment over not receiving the energy saving bulbs promised by the government as read in Still No Voucher For Low-Energy Bulbs (February 6).
I, along with many other consumers, most of whom have probably given up trying to communicate with the person/s responsible for their vouchers, feel that not only did we not receive the vouchers but have been taken for a ride while attempting to do so. My lost battle started on November 19, when I sent an e-mail to a communications officer at the Ministry for Rural Affairs.
I was then informed to forward my WSC account number and ID card number so that my case could be investigated.
Subsequently, I contacted the officer by phone and we clarified some issues.
I was told that my vouchers might have gotten stuck in the post or stolen, among other possibilities, and that he would look into issuing the vouchers over the coming week.
This was on December 1, but to date, I have not received any vouchers.
Numerous e-mails I forwarded at a later stage were completely ignored and unanswered.
Seems like the long-awaited vouchers are taking a long trip.
