Further to the immediate success of their infectious debut single Pretty Rival, which topped local radio charts for several weeks and earned the band Best New Artist and Best Song award nominations last year, local band Ellie and the Oscars is back with a new single, Dancing in the Rain.

The band said the song is about “transition and tackles emotions that the audience can relate to”.

Rooted in a somewhat moody ambiance, the new single is remarkably different from Pretty Rival in that it has a more laid-back feel and a pensive mood; there hasn’t been something that sounds quite like it on the local scene.

Like the band’s debut single, Dancing in the Rain was written by vocalist Eliza Borg and guitarist Peter Borg, the latter also taking charge of its production.

The song was mixed and mastered by Howard Keith at Jagged House Studios.
