Pierre Cassar has been appointed chief executive of the Broadcasting Authority following the recent resignation of Kevin Aquilina.

Dr Aquilina has returned to his post of head and senior lecturer at the Department of Public Law, within the University's Faculty of Laws.

A university lecturer on the scripting and production of radio programmes, Mr Cassar possesses a wealth of experience in the broadcasting sector.

He was employed as station manager of the university's radio station and held the post of corporate communications manager at Heritage Malta in the past years.

He is married to Chantal and has two daughters, Jade Kelly and Maia Kylie.
