A wide variety of courses for adults are being offered in the next scholastic year, the Education Ministry said.

Adult courses are held by the Education Division annually and last year they were attended by 7,400 people, 70 percent of whom were women.

This year, 455 courses are being offered in Malta and 121 in Gozo. The subjects include academic ones, others relating to trade and others in the field of entertainment.

The ministry said that popular subjects in previous years were ECDL, ballroom dancing, line dancing and basic Maltese and English. The latter were also attended by non-Maltese residents including foreigners and refugees.

And for the first time since these courses have been held, six applications for Latin were received on the first day of applications this year.

Some of the courses are organised in collaboration with other organisations.

Applications for courses can be obtained from the Education Ministry.
