Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Facebook that his 10-year-old dog had been quarantined after biting two people, including the husband of the deputy foreign minister, at a Hanukkah candle-lighting party in his Jerusalem home on Thursday.

The dog Kaiya was adopted in the summer. Netanyahu handed her over for a 10-day assessment of her behaviour, but said he believes the law should be changed.

"It has flaws that aren't consistent with reason and compassion," he wrote.
