A man from Naxxar has been granted bail against a deposit of €500 and a personal guarantee of €5,000 after pleading not guilty to setting a property in  Francisco Ximenes Street, Naxxar on fire last Sunday. People were inside the property

Dunstan Vella, 48, was also charged with putting other properties, which also had people inside, at risk of catching fire.

He was accused of disobeying police orders.

Mr Vella pleaded not guilty to causing damage amounting to not more to €116.47 to the detriment of two people and threatening them.
