Thirty-six youngsters aged from four to 19 took part in this year's Nadur Song Festival held under the auspices of the Ministry for Gozo on March 29 at the Mnarja Band Theatre, which was packed for the occasion.

There were five sections, including an uncompetitive one for the very young singers. All participants received a commemorative token, plus a certificate of participation. The winner and two runners-up in each section were awarded a total of 16 trophies sponsored by the Nadur council.

They were presented to them by Nadur mayor Miriam Portelli. Gozo Minister Giovanna Debono presented the medals while Mnarja Band Club president James Buttigieg presented the certificates. The overall winner trophy was sponsored and presented by the band club's chaplain, Mgr Salvu Pace. The special guest at the festival was Debora Cassar who, accompanied by various local young dancers, gave a spectacular show that complemented the well organised festival. The winners of each section were Rebecca Bonello, Michaela Bajada, Denise Spiteri and Monica Parnis. The overall winner was Denise Spiteri, who sang Flower of the South.
