The MUT has ordered an hour's strike by Mcast lecturers on Monday, complaining of repeated failure to abide by agreements, work practices and legislation.

The union said criteria for progression/promotion are not being respected. It claimed that part-timers are being requested to register themselves as self-employed contrary to established legal frameworks; LSAs employed by Mcast are being grossly underpaid, and excess hours worked last academic year have not been paid out.

The strike will be held between 9 and 10 a.m.
