Sacrestia Vault at the Valletta Waterfront will be filled with heavenly voices tomorrow evening when two of Malta's up-and-coming opera singers will be delighting audiences with music of love.

Mezzo-soprano Sandra Scicluna and soprano Frances Catherine Farrugia accompanied by pianist Roberto Debono will be giving a concert entitled Aspects of Love, exploring different composers and the way they handled love through their music. The programme will include pieces by Léo Delibes, Giacomo Puccini and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Having started singing at a tender age Ms Scicluna has worked with Maestro Raffaela Ponti building up a repertoire under the guidance of one of Malta's most formidable dramatic sopranos Antoinette Miggiani. Currently reading a degree in theory of music, Ms Farrugia had sung at Westminster Abbey in London to mark Malta day in 2006. Having started music lessons at a very young age, her repertoire features arias from the Baroque, Classical and Romantic eras.

Accompanying the singers, Mr Debono has played at the Cassino in Italy and is used to taking the stage at international events. Working mainly with instrumentalists he continues to perform at lunchtime concerts, cultural evenings and religious ceremonies. The concert is being held with the sponsorship of Kia Motors of Tumas Group and a glass of wine will be offered to patrons after the concert compliments of Dacoutros Winery. Tickets are available from St James Cavalier and cost €10 (Lm4.29).
