Prime Minister Joseph Muscat said this morning that he was confident that the Labour parliamentary group would remain united even if a motion of no confidence in Energy Minister Konrad Mizzi is presented in parliament.

Independent MP Marlene Farrugia said on Monday she would move a no confidence motion in the minister. The PN said it would support it.

Asked if there would be a free vote, Dr Muscat said that the only time MPs were not required to vote along party lines were on matters of morals and conscience.

PN WANTS EARLY DEBATE

In a statement the Nationalist Party called on the government to set a date for the debate, accusing the government of foot-dragging.

The motion was presented on Monday.
