132 new jobs are to be created in the Aviation Park thanks to a €33m investment, the prime minister announced this morning.

Speaking during a tour of the park in Safi, Dr Muscat said the investment will be made by the government through Malta Industrial Parks and will involve the building of three new hangars.

Another two hangers, much larger hangars will be built by Aviation Cosmetics and Medavia. SR Technics, which services EasyJet, will also be expanding their operations.

The MIB investment will include 50% investment from EU funds.

Dr Muscat said this investment came hard on the heels of other new investment including €30m announced yesterday by Playmobil, €15m by Hilton Malta, and €5m by Chinese phone-maker Huawei.

"This country can achieve more if we keep taking the right decision to keep this country moving in the right direction," Dr Muscat said.
