MPs from both parties in the House will be on the same side for once when they don their kit to play a seven-a-side football match against a team made up of representatives of major Maltese businesses.

This event forms part of the Vida World Cup Charity Appeal, a national fund-raising drive in aid of a playground project at the Dominican Sisters' Children's Home in Żabbar. Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi and Labour leader Joseph Muscat will be in attendance and, along with other MPs, are expected to discuss their expectations ahead of the World Cup.

The football match will be played on Thursday at 7.15 p.m. at the St Aloysius College Sports Complex, Old Railway Road, Birkirkara.
