The Labour Party’s electoral commission said today that all members whose membership was paid up as of June 2007 are eligible to contest the election for Labour Party leader and deputy leader.

The commission said it has prepared terms of reference which can be collected from MLP headquarters.

One of the persons interested in the election, George Abela, last week expressed fears that eligibility may be narrowed to party delegates. He has confirmed he is a paid up member and therefore able to take part in the contest.
