Former Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi used an AFM helicopter three times to travel to Gozo in the last legislature.

Then Gozo Minister Giovanna Debono made two trips and Justice Minister Chris Said made one trip, according to information given in parliament today.

Home Affairs Minister Manuel Mallia, replying to parliamentary questions by Labour MP Carmelo Abela, said Dr Gonzi used the helicopter on October 5, 2008 and twice on December 12, 2011. Dr Said accompanied him on all the flights. There were two other passengers on two of the flights. The total cost was €2,353.

Ms Debono used the helicopter twice in the early hours of May 29,2012 for a total cost of €1,324.

Dr Said also used the helicopter in the early hours of June 1, 2012 for a cost of €919.5.

The purpose was 'secret' for all the flights, the minister said.
