A court this morning confirmed the bail conditions imposed on two soldiers who stand accused of the murder of migrant Mamadou Kamara, 32.

Gunner Clive Cuschieri, 29, of Paola, and Sergeant Mark Anthony Dimech, 44, of Gżira, had been granted bail after paying a deposit of €9,000 each and making a personal guarantee of €30,000 each.

In an appeal, the Attonrey General called for stricter conditions, noting that there was no curfew.

Lawyers Franco Debono and Rachel Tua argued that the main witnesses had already testified and the bail deposits were very heavy.

Lawyers Steve Tonna Lowell and Gianella de Marco said the bail conditions were granted after five hours of testimony were heard.

Mr Justice David Scicluna ruled that the bail conditions would remain unchanged.
