Patrick Sciberras 32 of St Paul's Bay, was today jailed for eight months and fined €500 after he slightly injured a woman on August 22, 2010.
The woman Diane Zellner, said that she went into Supreme Bar, Qawra at 4.45 a.m. to buy a bottle of water. The accused offered her 'white powder' and made a sign of cocaine. She was not interested and walked out. He followed her and overturned a table and chair where she was sitting. She hit her head on the floor.
He then resisted the police.
The accused denied the claims, saying he offered the woman a drink and she hit him in the face with a glass. He did not know what happened later.
Magistrate Audrey Demicoli said she had no doubt about the version of the victim and found the accused guilty of trafficking by sharing, and causing the woman slight injury.
