Allow me to express my frustration after having attended the Michael Bolton concert. To begin with, the singer appeared one and a half hours late.

Having paid to be seated in the silver section I was obliged to view the concert via the one monitor in the middle of the hall but this turned out to be useless as it was too blurred to be able to distinguish anything. Also, during the close-up shots, all one could see was the glare from the spot lights. I complained, as did others, with the technical crew in the hope that the problem might be resolved but nothing changed. When the audience had had enough they simply stood up so as to be able to see the singer directly.

The concert hall's ground is flat and not elevated as one would expect, so one could not possibly view the stage without standing up. I am convinced that the audience in the bronze section had a better view as they had the high seats in the rear.

I kept asking the security guards present to speak to any one of the organisers but they could not help and merely suggested that the organisers would probably be sitting somewhere in the front.

I can only conclude that the organisers were simply interested in pocketing the money without bothering much to ensure that they delivered the goods.

Ultimately I ended up merely listening to Michael Bolton - might as well have listened to a CD in the comfort of my home. I can now honestly say that I saw more of him during the 8 o'clock news than during the actual concert.

Shame!
