Emanuel Muscat, 22, of Mgarr, has been jailed for three months after a court convicted him of possession and trafficking of heroin.

In its considerations, the court said that the accused had declared that he thought that if he supplied the drug to his friends without profit, he would not be breaking the law. However, the accused had been supplying the drug for a month and a half before making his statement. Furthermore, in taking his friends to the person who supplied him with drugs, the accused was showing them where they could get drugs from, and all this was illegal.

The court also imposed a €234 fine and said the case would have been decided earlier had the accused turned up in court regularly.
