The 13th edition of the Ladies' Running Club annual race will be held on Friday, September 19 at 6 p.m. The 3km fun run sets off at 5.30 p.m.

Both races start and finish in front of the Mdina Glass Factory, Ta' Qali, the main sponsors of this event.

The race route this year has been altered due to the increasing amount of traffic on the main roads. Thus, on arriving at Attard, just before Benny's Antiques, athletes must turn left into Hal-Warda Street, Triq il-Mosta, Triq il-Ferrovija, Triq Victor Vassallo and Triq il-Pitkali.

Here, the route swerves past St Catherine's and into St Catherine street, after which point, the same course as in previous years shall be retained. Marshals will be posted along the marked route.

Medals and Mdina Glass gifts will be given to all finishers of the race, while trophies will be presented to the finishers of the fun run.

Prizes specially made by Mdina Glass will be awarded to the first three males and first three females. Other prizes will be handed to winners in the various age categories.

Throughout the race, San Michel water will be provided and Gatorade will be distributed at the finish line. Other sponsors are Sedqa, Country Style and Scott Supermarket.

Applications for both the race and fun run may be obtained from the Ladies' Running Club, the Albatross, Triq il-Mithna, Lija or from Wally Galea's Souvenir Shop, South Street, Valletta.

The closing date for applications is Monday, September 15. Registration for the fun run can be made before 5 p.m. on the day of the race. For further information, one may call 2143 0137 or 2131 3300.
