A new Mepa report showed that emissions from the Marsa power station had nothing to do with the problem of black dust reported over several localities in the south of Malta, Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi said today.

Speaking in Parliament, he said that the report was handed to him this morning.

He said that further studies were required to establish the actual source of the dust.

Infrastructure Minister Austin Gatt yesterday also said that the dust that had been collected did not have the chemical compositions which would show that it came from the power station.
