Labour MP Marlene Farrugia, who had participated in public protests against the siting of the campus of the American University of Malta at Zonqor reacted to the splitting of the campus and the reduced use on Zonqor Point this evening.

She said she was generally happy with the announcement and that the government had heeded the protests. As a result Zonqor would be saved and only a small part would be used. This, she said, was an acceptable compromise.

Dr Farrugia was present for the press conference by the prime minister along with her partner Godfrey Farrugia, whip of the Labour parliamentary group, who also said he was satisfied with the changes made.
