The €130,950 collected during this weekend’s Maratona bir-Roti is safe and did not go missing during a break-in at the Hamrun Boys’ Junior Lyceum this morning.

Thieves broke into the headmaster’s office at around 8am and made off with some cash which, however, did not have anything to do with the marathon money. the police said.

The money will be used to equip schools with an automated external defibrillator, provide two teachers per school with a basic life support certification course, give basic awareness on first aid to all students of beneficiary schools and to members of the staff.
