A 19-year-old man was this morning jailed for five months and fined €931.75 (Lm400) after he admitted to trafficking ecstasy and possession of 135 ecstasy pills.
The man, who cannot be named by court order, admitted to trafficking and possession of ecstasy in circumstances which denote that it was not for his exclusive use, as well as possession of cocaine.
Before handing down judgment, Magistrate Miriam Hayman took into consideration a report from his probation officer which said that the man had made positive progress in confronting his drug addiction.
Police inspector Pierre Grech prosecuted. Dr Jason Azzoaprdi and Dr Kris Busietta appeared for the defendant.
