A 35-year-old man from Qormi was this morning acquitted of taking part in a hold-up at Shopwise Supermarket on August 2, 2001.

Magistrate Neville Camilleri said that the evidence presented was circumstantial and the only thing which could possibly tie Sebastian Farrugia to the crime was his fingerprints on a stapler that was found in the car which had been reportedly used during the hold-up.

Edward Gatt represented the accused.
