A court heard how Alfred Mangion, 67 of Zurrieq last week found a traffic offence ticket affixed to his car's windscreen after a warden found that the vehicle did not have the proper licence disc.

On the following day Mr Mangion spotted the warden who had fined him. A heated argument developed and the warden was hit on a lip. When the police arrived on the scene, Mr Mangion resisted arrest and hit one of the officers, slightly injuring him.

During interrogation and in court,  Mr Mangion admitted his actions, expressed regret and said he did not intend to hurt anyone.
