St. George Edition, a music publishing company based in Malta, has launched an invitation inviting Maltese songwriters to present songs and compositions to be considered for recording and inclusion in the forthcoming album by international artiste Arndis Halla.

Iceland’s celebrated opera star is renowned for her masterful capability at bridging musical worlds: classical and pop, theatre and musicals, past and future.

With a loyal and enthusiastic following across Europe, especially in Scandinavia, Germany and Central Europe, Arndis Halla is also the 'voice' of APASSIONATA, Europe’s most successful entertainment show with horses, which has been attended by over four million guests to date.

As a teenager, Arndis Halla sang in a rock band but at 19 she started getting into more serious music and studied the entire musical spectrum from pop to jazz. During her studies at the Academy of the Arts in Berlin she was recruited by Harry Kupfer as a soloist at the Komische Oper.

The soprano’s career took off: opera, concerts, song recitals in Berlin, Prague, Seoul and of course Iceland. While working on Apassionata, Arndis Halla’s musical mosaic and personality merged into a new, integrated image reflecting both the grandeur of opera and the melancholy of her native country.

The combination of this eclecticism with the powerful drive of modern sounds produces a style as stirring as it is unique. As anyone who has heard her enchanting shows and albums will attest, Arndis’ voice is set for untold heights. To date, Arndis Halla has released three solo albums: Four Seasons (2004), Odur (2007) and Edda (2008)

Arndis Halla is signed to Edel Records.

Maltese songwriters are invited to submit their demos to St George Edition by April 10, to be considered for inclusion in Arndis Halla's forthcoming album, which is expected to focus primarily on popular music (ballads, melodic songs etc).

Recordings may be sent directly to St. George Edition, 35A, St. Anthony str. Sliema, SLM3021.

More information and details may be requested via e-mail on: music@stgeorge-edition.com, or by tel: 2733 0822.

This is a St. George Edition initiative.
