The Malta Tennis Federation has a squad of three players in Luxembourg for the fourth ITF/Tennis Europe Small States Championship which got underway last weekend.

The MTF selection includes Matthew Asciak, Clive Vella and Elaine Genovese. They are accompanied by coach Lorraine Falzon after training regularly with nat-ional coach Dusan Janivejic.

Eight small European States, namely, Andorra, Cyprus, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, San Marino, Iceland and Malta are involved in the competition.

The MTF were the promoters of this tournament. During the Tennis Europe Junior Meeting in November, the Malta federation also suggested an introduction of a similar event for U-12s.

Players in Luxembourg are given a chance to figure in two tournaments. Those suffering early elimination in singles event, will then compete in the Plate Event.

Gasan Mamo Agency are assisting the MTF by covering the players' insurance during their visit abroad.
