The 10th meeting from the Winter Championship at Badger Karting was held earlier this month.

The format was Grand Prix style. All participants were randomly divided into two groups, each one figuring in three qualifying heats.

Points were awarded according to lap times. In the end, the top 10 took part in a final race.

Adam Bugeja dominated the heats and qualified first on the grid. Jacob Borg secured second place. Zack Zammit and Luke Vella Clark finished with the same number of points but the former claimed third place due to a faster lap time.

The race was a thriller. Bugeja had a fine start to retain his pole followed closely by Zammit and Vella Clark. But as the latter two got embroiled in a tight contest for second place, Bugeja opened a sizable lead which he never surrendered. He went on to win the race and take sole leadership in the standings with only two races to go. Zammit was second and Vella Clark third.

Present for the race at Ta' Qali was Stuart Ziemelis, owner of a karting school in the UK. Local hopefuls Bugeja, Zammit and Borg were recently at Ziemelis' school to acquire their international karting licence.
