Air Malta has renewed its support for the Malta Olympic Committee (MOC) and has been appointed as the MOC's official airline.

MOC contingents at various international competitions and training camps throughout this year will be using Air Malta's services as will the contingent travelling to Athens for the 2004 Olympic Games.

During the signing of an agreement Joe Cappello, Air Malta's chief operating officer, said that Air Malta had always enjoyed excellent relations with the MOC dating back several years.

Julian Pace Bonello, MOC vice-president said that Maltese athletes must travel regularly to represent Malta in the international sporting field, especially if they wish to see any improvement and in turn, results.

"Thanks to the support given by Air Malta travel will be made easier and more affordable for the MOC and for Malta's sporting ambassadors," Mr Pace Bonello said.

Also present at the signing of the agreement was Joseph Cassar, secretary general of MOC, and John Saliba, Air Malta group head for marketing and public relations.
