A good number of club secretaries discussed the Malta FA's Anti-Doping procedure for 2009/10 during a series of lectures organised by the MFA Committee for Administrators.

MFA senior vice-president, Carmelo Bartolo, who is also chairman of the Medical Committee of the association, made a short introduction where he mentioned particular doping cases which took place locally and abroad and warned of repercussions from sanctions.

Dr David Attard, the Malta National 'A' Team doctor, explained in detail the anti-doping regulations and procedures to be adopted by the MFA this season in conformity with the directives outlined by both UEFA and WADA.

Reference was made to the list of prohibited substances mentioned in the MFA Doping Charter, the UEFA Anti-Doping Regulations and the WADA 2009 Prohibited List which are now found on the MFA website, www.mfa.com.mt.

Special mention was also made to the Therapeutic Use Exemptions Form (TUE) which has to filled in and submitted in due time by the respective Member Clubs.

Random checks will be resumed in all competitions and stadia and samples will be analysed in a WADA approved laboratory in Germany.
