The Chamber of Engineers, in collaboration with the Ministry for Resources and Infrastructure, has launched this year's Malta Engineering Excellence Awards (MEEA).

The MEEA have been created to provide national recognition to individuals and/or organisations who have achieved outstanding engineering accomplishments that have had significant impact on engineering in Maltese society.

The first MEEA presentation was held in 2002 and since then the Chamber has rewarded a number of individuals and organisations who have excelled in the three award categories of innovation, leadership and life time achievement.

The Innovation Award recognises engineering achievements that demonstrate original or innovative application of new or existing techniques. Past projects have highlighted the high degree of technical merit, skill and ingenuity of the engineering profession.

The Leadership Award recognises individuals or organisations that have been instrumental at raising the level of engineering excellence and promoting the engineering profession and/or engineers in industry and society.

The Lifetime Achievement Award is the Chamber's most prestigious award and is given to engineers who have contributed significantly to the development of engineering in Malta.

This year's winners will be announced and presented with the awards at the Chamber of Engineers Annual Reception in December.

Further information and nomination forms can be obtained by visiting the chamber's Website at www.coe.org.mt. Nominations have to reach the chamber by Tuesday.
