The governments of Malta and China have embarked on discussions for the reciprocal recognition of electronic signatures made by both countries.

This would ease trade and legal and financial transactions reducing bureaucracy and the need of most documents required in business.

The discussions were started between IT Minister Austin Gatt and his Chinese counterpart Liu Lihua.
