This year's Malta International Airshow is back on track and is scheduled to be held in the third week of September, organisers announced this afternoon.

Organisers said talks between the Malta Aviation Society and Tourism Minister Edward Zammit Lewis had "paved the way for a successful outcome" and thanked the minister for having led talks over the past months.

Both parties had expressed optimism about reaching an agreement earlier this week. This year's event will be help on September 23 and 24.

Sponsorship wrangles had threatened to derail this year's event, which will mark the 25th consecutive year in which the Malta Aviation Society has held an airshow.
