A 60-year-old Floriana man yesterday admitted to damaging a local council office in a fit of rage over a parking ticket.

Joseph Sultana damaged some chairs at the Floriana local council office when he was told by staff members to contest the decision to issue the ticket once he did not agree with it, Police Inspector James Grech told the court.

During the arraignment, Mr Sultana admitted to causing the damage, swearing in public, breaching the peace and harassing Emmanie Theuma and Denyse Scerri on Tuesday afternoon.

Magistrate Gabriella Vella conditionally discharged him for one year, fined him €60 and ordered him to pay another €60 to the council for the damage he caused.
