I am alive and able to write this letter because of the prompt action and care given to me by the cabin crew of Air Malta flight KM101, departing Heathrow on August 31.

During take-off, I experienced a serious medical trauma which resulted in me struggling desperately to breathe. Seeing this, the crew jumped into action. From that moment on, their exper-tise and care was amazing. They moved me to a more open seat and gave me first aid and oxygen. The male purser and his female assistant – sorry I don’t know their names – took turns in monitoring me during the whole flight. Their manner and words had a very calming effect on both me and my wife.

Their actions will never be forgotten and I will be forever in their debt.

Thank you.
