Police were kept busy in St Julian's yesterday dealing with two separate incidents - a hold-up and a serious assault which left a 30-year-old Libyan with serious injuries.

The first incident took place at 3 a.m. when police received reports that a 20-year-old man from Msida, was assaulted and robbed of about €100 (Lm42.90). Luckily, he escaped unhurt.

Some two hours later, police were called to St George's Road following reports that a Libyan man had been attacked with a bottle. He was taken to hospital where his critical condition took a turn for the better later in the day.

Police are investigating.
