The Chief of Defence Staff of the Libyan Armed Forces, Major General Yousef El Mangoush will be in Malta tomorrow (Monday) for a ceremony to mark the handing over of the Libyan Air Force Mirages which have been in Malta for almost a year.

The two fighter-jets were flown to Malta in February when their pilots refused to bomb their compatriots in Benghazi a few days after the Libyan uprising started. The pilots were given asylum until they returned to Tripoli when the Gaddafi regime was toppled.

The fighters were recently moved to a Medavia hangar to be checked by technicians.

General El Mangoush and his delegation are expected to have talks with the Armed Forces of Malta.
