Astro-Club Malta has published a leaflet about the planets in our solar system to complement the 'Planet Walk' project that it set up along the Qawra promenade in St Paul's Bay last January with the support of the European Community and the St Paul's Bay local council.

The walk, which extends from the Ta' Fra Ben, parking area to Buġibba square, features spherical monuments representing the sun and the planets in our solar system, including plaques with information about each planet, written both in English and braille. The size and distances between the monuments are representative of the actual size and distances between the planets and the sun.

Astro-Club members Melchiore Farrugia and Kylie Ann Borg Marks, who worked on the leaflet, recently presented copies of it to Miriam Teuma from the Science Centre Department for Curriculum Management.

Ms Teuma said the leaflets would be distributed to schools to promote 'Planet Walk' as an informal learning activity for students, adding that some schools had already included a visit to the project on their list of yearly outings.
