Le Méridien St Julian's Hotel and Spa has joined the parent company Starwood Hotels and Resorts' partnership with UNICEF by launching the unique programme 'Art is Life' across its entire network of hotels and resorts in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
As part of the Check Out for Children partnership, 'Art is Life' gives guests the opportunity to support UNICEF's HIV prevention programmes in Africa through the addition of a $1 donation upon checkout.
'Art is Life' supports projects that encourage young people to take the lead in raising awareness of HIV prevention and communicating life-saving skills to peers through the innovative use of children's media, drama, music and other creative activities.
"The 'Art is Life' launch marks an important step in our support of global educational creative programming. Together with UNICEF, our guests will be able to support innovative programmes targeted at educating young people about HIV through creative media, drama and music," said Eva Ziegler, global brand leader for Le Méridien Hotels and Resorts and W Hotels Worldwide.
Since it was established in 1995, the Starwood and UNICEF Check Out for Children partnership has raised over $21 million through guest donations. For more information, visit www.lemeridien.com or www.starwoodpressclub.com.
