The law courts were urgently opened last Sunday so that the police could prosecute a Romanian lap dancer who was dancing topless in a Paceville club. The lap dancer’s name and photo were splashed all over the media. The prosecuting police asked the magistrate not to grant her bail since there was a grave danger (sic!) she might escape from the island. The magistrate used her common sense and did not accede to the prosecution’s request.

Two local councillors were humiliated by somebody in the police force who abused of the system and forced the two councillors accused of using work laptops at home to strip naked or in their underpants. Luckily, this abuse is being investigated and, hopefully, redressed.

Fabio Psaila was arrested, being suspected of the raid on a bank in Qormi. His body was riddled with 55 pellet wounds. He was not strip searched by the police, so much so that, according to evidence heard in court, he ended up tearing his clothes to bits with his teeth and flushing them down the toilet... ending up naked himself.

Who, may I ask, decides on these selective procedures? No wonder many citizens do not see any sense behind these ludicrous decisions.
