The L-Istrina Riddle - Colin Galea, December 5 - can be solved quite easily with regard to Church homes and entities receiving contributions from the L-Istrina campaign.

Any reading of the Archbishop's Curia audited accounts (for over 100 entities grouped together) shows Church homes being subsidised to the tune of Lm100,000 during 2006. These losses have been constant for the past decade or so. The necessary subsidy has been provided by other Church entities which register a surplus.

Why should contributions from L-Istrina to Church institutions caring for people at risk be considered a Houdini act?
