Frankie Dettori was handed a 14-day ban by the Horseracing Regulatory Authority in midweek for overuse of the whip on Ramonti who won the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot earlier this month.

The former champion will be out of action between July 13-26 but that means he can ride his Epsom Derby winner Authorized in the Eclipse Stakes at Sandown today and the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes at Ascot on July 28.

Dettori was noted striking Ramonti 25 times inside the final two-and-a-half-furlongs (500 metres) of the Royal Ascot race.
