It is nice, bright and cool at Silverstone, with a temperature of 12 degrees and the prospect of some serious racing after a week dominated by the industrial espionage drama.

We have seen a multitude of aero solutions by the teams, possibly as a way to counter the wind gusts yesterday.

We are definitely heading towards a hard racing weekend with Alonso having declared that the situation in the McLaren team has not changed and he feels unhappy about the points gap with his team mate. Much the same applies for Ferrari, where Massa wants to break even with Raikkonen after the Finn took a victory that appeared to be heading the Brazilian's way in Magny-Cours.

An interesting incident took place a short time ago when a battered Ford transit turned up at the gate of the circuit and was not allowed in. Inside the van were the latest aero parts for ING Renault. The van was eventually allowed through.
