An Israeli man was arraigned in court at 2 a.m. today and accused of causing damage to his hotel room with a value of over €1,164.

It is understood that the arraignment needed to take place early since a number of witnesses were about to leave Malta.

Shai Twina, 33 pleaded not guilty and was remanded in custody.

Police Inspector Godwin Scerri prosecuted.
